Sustainable Initiatives
Vision
A campus community that models sustainable living and learning, driving innovation and collaboration for a healthier planet.
Mission
To integrate sustainability into all aspects of our curriculum, operations, and community engagement, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and social equity.
BIRD-M Campus Green Committee was formed to target and implement sustainable green solutions in the diverse fields of energy efficiency and waste management.
BIRD, Mangaluru is blessed with nature's bounty. Located within the proximity of the Gurupura River, the lush green ambience of campus has ponds, walking tracks and also houses a wide variety of flora and fauna. The rich and varied green landscape of BIRD, Mangaluru continues to serve as a rich source of inspiration to take up the dynamic challenges that exist in the development and implementation of green technologies.
More Green Initiatives are being planned for wastewater treatment as well as recycling and rainwater harvesting in a decentralized manner. Out of the total solid waste generated in the campus separating organic and inorganic waste is being planned.
From circular economy and climate change to food security and societal values, we're dedicated to realizing the Sustainable Development Goals both within and beyond our campus boundaries.
